ASPERULA or WOODRUFF

Asperula orientalis (azurea setosa) is a hardy annual which grows to about 9 in. with pale blue scented flowers. Self-sown seedlings are frequent. A. odorata is a British native plant which grows under shady trees. It is a perennial with small, white flowers in May. The height is 9 in. Pressed flowers and foliage smell of new-mown hay and were at one time used for scenting linen.
