Browallia speciosa major has large blue flowers with a white throat, borne on erect stems from July to September, if treated as a half-hardy annual. It grows to about 1 1/2ft. Seed sown in June will provide plants for winter flowering in a heated greenhouse. This plant is really a herbaceous perennial and cuttings may be taken under glass in March or September. They are rooted in pots filled with sandy compost and placed in a propagating case with bottom heat.
