P. These bloom as early as the snowdrop and massed make a fine show. Plant bulbs a couple of inches deep in early autumn in average soil and only divide up when crowded. A gentian blue variety is Chionodoxa sardensis which flowers in March. C. Luciliae is another vivid blue. There are also white and pink forms.
