CLARKIA

H. A. This is easy to cultivate and flowers for a long time in delightful pastel colours on 2 ½ &• plants. A good sandy loam is best and a warm position desirable. It makes an excellent winter plant for the greenhouse and for table decoration if sown in autumn in a cool house. For growing in open, sow in April and thin out to 1 ft. The variety Glorious is crimson-scarlet and Enchantress a warm salmon pink. White Beauty is a new type of Clarkia with frilled, double flowers borne on long-stemmed clusters at the top of the plant. It grows to 2 ft. and is excellent for cutting.
