CLIVIA

P. These evergreen bulbs are easier to grow than is commonly supposed. The various forms of Clivia yniniata bear orange, yellow or red trumpet-shaped flowers in clusters on a single stem in March and April. They bloom best when pot bound. A minimum winter temperature of 45° F. is necessary.

Clivias are excellent room plants if placed in full sun against a south window. Water in summer, but keep fairly dry from October to January. Increase by division of the bulbs in February.
