A perennial with tuberous; not entirely winter-hardy.
They make unusual specimen plants standing out from lower growth. In spring they require a great deal of water, but after flowering the plants must be kept much drier; excess moisture in winter is fatal. Protect against frost and plant in full sun.
The rootstocks must be planted with great care in very well-drained, enriched soil.
From. The plants will flower after 3-4 years.
