FRANCOA

P. Popularly known as ‘bridal wreath’ for its graceful pendent spikes of white bloom. Best in the cool house, but can grow in open in warm districts, after being raised from seed sown in heat, gradually hardened and planted in John Innes Potting Compost. The species most grown is ramosa which reaches about 2 ft.

FRANKENIA or SEA HEATH A densely-growing, evergreen rockery plant suitable for ‘carpeting’ with crocus and scillas. The pink flowers appear in summer. Grow in sandy loam and peat, and give warm situation. It flourishes best in coastal districts. Increase by division in September.
