P. This has flowers of delicious fragrance. Raised from seed sown in a rich compost, but as the roots are very brittle, use care in transplanting. Seed sown in February or March will give flowers the same year, while a further sowing in August will supply plants for the following spring. When established, corms will give offsets which can be detached and planted in pots an inch below the surface in July. In warm districts they will grow in a sheltered sunny border. The slender stems usually need supporting. The colour range includes yellow, white, pink, lavender and blue.
