GLOTTIPHYLLUM

Native to the Cape Province, this genus consists of easy to grow plants, with fleshy leaves crowded 4 or more to a growth no and all tongue-shaped. The flowers are very large, and glossy yellow. The growing period lasts from June to the end of January. The compost should not be too rich and should consist of 1 part loam, a half part leaf soil, and 1 part sand.

Glottiphyllum depressum. The leaves are very crowded, with 3 or 4 pairs to a growth, and arranged in two rows. The flowers are yellow.

Glottiphyllum linguiforme, A fast-growing plant. The fresh glossy green leaves are arranged in two rows and tongue-shaped, about z inches long and 1J inches broad. The flowers are large and golden-yellow.
