HAEMANTHUS

P. A warmhouse bulb with closely-packed heads of small scarlet flowers borne on 1 ft. stems in late summer, which should be very firmly potted in sand, loam and peat in equal proportions. Keep well drained, but give copious water in hot weather and none in winter, giving a top-dressing of fresh soil, taking away an inch of the old, every spring. Increase by offsets.
