HALESIA

FLOWERING SHRUB. A quite hardy, deciduous shrub to about 20 ft., the white, bell-like flowers of which droop, hence its rural name of snowdrop tree, or in other parts silver bell. Plant in spring in well-drained loamy soil in sheltered position and only prune to keep neat. Take root cuttings, struck in frame in spring.
