KOCHIA or SUMMER CYPRESS

A. A foliage plant which turns red in autumn; it has no leaves in the ordinary sense, but thread-like panicles in profusion like a massive beard, at first a delicate green, turning in autumn to a deep rich crimson. Ordinary soil suits it. Can also be sown in open in warm spot in May. The best variety is Kochia trichophylla which grows to about 2 ft.
