MORINA

P. A useful border plant. Morina longifolia has long spikes of tubular white and rose flowers in July on 2 ft. plants. The thistle-like foliage is decidedly handsome. Increase by division in early spring.

MOSS. Where this occurs on fruit trees spray in winter with tar-oil. Moss on paths can be destroyed by a phenol type liquid weedkiller — note that sodium chlorate, though an excellent general weedkiller, does not tackle moss. For moss on lawns see LAWN MAKING.
