P. This genus includes several attractive rockery plants, mostly requiring a sunny, moist position. jV. caerulea (hippomanica) reaches 9 in. with lavender-blue, saucer-shaped flowers in summer. JV. repens (rivularis) bears white funnel-shaped blooms in late summer. Of creeping habit, it grows to about 3 in. Increase by division in early spring or by 2 in. long cuttings.
