ONONIS or REST HARROW

P. A suitable subject for a made-up bank which is apt to get dry for while thriving in ordinary soil it does better when the ground is not moist. Raise in spring from seed and subsequently increase by division or cuttings. The seed is sown in the open where needed and well thinned as the plant is of shrubby habit. Ononis fruticosa is of erect habit, growing to about 2 ft. with reddish-pink pea-shaped flowers in summer. 0. rotundifolia grows to 1 ft. with warm pink blooms. Both require a sunny position.
