FLOWERING SHRUB. Attractive evergreen shrubs with fragrant white flowers and succeeding on practically any soil. Most species are easily increased by cuttings in July rooted in sandy compost in a cold frame. Half-ripe shoots about 3 in. long are best. Osmanthus delavayi blooms in May, reaching 6 ft., and often as much through. It is often a slow starter and prefers a sheltered position against a warm wall, but is otherwise quite easy.
