S. Its evergreen foliage is dark and shining, and the shrub has a genuine fragrance. In the south it can be grown against a wall or as a picturesque hedge in mild districts, especially in seaside gardens.

Pittosporum tenuifolium (nigricans) grows to about 30 ft. with a spread of 15 ft. Increase by cuttings in July.
