POLYGONATUM MULTIFLORUM

This is the well-known Solomon’s seal and grows best in shade in any soil especially near the water-side to about 3 ft. The drooping, greenish-white flowers appear in May and are useful for cutting. Spreads rapidly and is easily increased by division in spring or early autumn. It should be remembered that its autumn berries are poisonous.

POLYGONUM BALDSCHUANICUM or RUSSIAN VINE A rampant twining climber for covering old trees, fences, hiding sheds or other outbuildings, etc. The white flowers appear in summer followed by white fruits. Increase by cuttings.
