QUAMASH or CAMASSIA

P. They flower handsomely, with starry blossom on spikes, if planted in a sunny position in average soil. Plant the bulbs in autumn 3 in. below the surface and 1 ft. apart. Increase by offsets after leaves have withered.

Camassia cusickii is pale lavender to about 4 ft., flowering in May. C. cscu-lenta is shorter to about 2 ½ ft. and is rich blue. It flowers in late May or early June and is excellent for cutting.
