Scindapsus 10-13oC/50-55°F; South East Asia

Natural climbers, these are akin to philodendrons but slightly more difficult. S. aureus has heart-shaped leaves that are attractively cream and green variegated. The variety ‘Marble Queen’ has almost entirely white leaves, and ‘Golden Queen’ is almost completely yellow. Warm, moist and shaded conditions are essential, although a well-lit spot is preferred in winter, also a mixture that is composed almost entirely of peat. A mossed support will also be beneficial for these climbers. New plants can be raised from individual leaves with a piece of stem attached.
