Tradescantia jluminensi s’Albo-vittata’.

This is one of the commonest house plants. It is popular because it is easy to cultivate and to propagate by stem cuttings.

Perhaps no other house plant lasts as long without compost, growing simply in water. T. Jluminensis is very attractive in a hanging container. The stems are reddish and generally prostrate with ascending tips. The leaves are short-stalked, 2-4 cm long and 15-20 mm wide. Those of the illustrated cultivar are striped with white and some are nearly all white.
