Wild Lily: L. distichum Nakai 1915

Another lily from Manchuria (Amur, Ussuri, Vladivostok) and Korea belonging to the Martagon section and not dissimilar to L. medeoloides. The stem, 1-3 feet tall, carries one leaf whorl and three to eight fleshy-petalled, orange flowers with dark spots in a raceme. Flowers in July, stem-rooting, grows best in damp, shaded, wooded situations; difficult to cultivate.
