Wild Lily: L. sherriffiae Stearn 1950

First found in 1949 by Mrs and Major SherrifFin the Himalayas (Bhutan) at an altitude of 9,000 feet. Delicate, 2 feet tall; winter-hardy in both England and Scotland; one to three bell-shaped flowers of light and dark purple; tessellated like a fritillaria. Seeds germinate immediately.
