ZAUSCHNERIA or CALIFORNIAN FUCHSIA

Neglected but easy rock plants which bloom in late summer and early autumn. They require a hot, dry position, tolerating the thinnest soil. The tubular vivid scarlet flowers of Zjauschneria cana (microphylla) are admirably balanced by the grey-green leaves. Increase by division in spring. Height about 18 in.
